The Brooklyn Nets are bringing back a familiar nickname for new starting point guard Jeremy Lin.

Lin signed a three-year, $36 million deal with the rebuilding Nets this offseason. The organization has started marketing their new star, using a play on words to showcase Lin, center Brook Lopez, and the New York borough they play in. Brooklyn will be selling two different types of T-shirts to represent their new core.

The first is titled “Brooklin” which combines the two players named with Brooklyn. It looks pretty dope.

The other new shirt reaches back into the basketball timeline, as the Nets are selling a shirt titled “Brook-Linsanity.” The motto is an obvious reference to Lin’s 35-game stint with the New York Knicks in 2011-12, where he set the basketball world ablaze with his incredible play.

Lin has since been unable to replicate his early career success,  but is still a valuable NBA contributor.

The Nets don’t have much to look forward to in 2016. Aside from a new management and coaching team, the roster outside Lopez and Lin isn’t impressive. Banking on Lin’s past success and what Lopez, a Nets lifer, has brought to the franchise is a no-brainer marketing wise. It’s a clever, sharp looking design and one which should sell well in the Brooklyn area.

For better or worse, Linsanity is back.
