Coming into this draft, there have been some character concerns regarding Alabama Crimson Tide star Brandon Miller after he was involved in an incident in which a woman was murdered.

Although Miller wasn’t directly involved in the shooting, many thought he should have been suspended and even kicked off the team for bringing a gun to his former teammate who has been charged with murder.

But ESPN’s NBA analyst Adrian Wojnarowski revealed that he doesn’t think this will hurt his draft stock.

“Teams have already spent a lot of time and resources on that particular event and the background of Brandon Miller,” Wojnarowski said. “And what I’m getting back from those organizations is not only did they not find anything that they would consider disqualifying to select Brandon Miller, they are finding a young man who they say is mature, focused, whose character and his habits are actually an asset in their evaluation of him.”

Miller averaged nearly 19 points a game, nine rebounds, and two assists. He was also SEC Player of the Year, Freshman of the Year, and an AP First Team All-American.

“Certainly once the draft board is up and we see who’s picking second, third and fourth, they’re going to dig in even more,” Wojnarowski said. “But right now Brandon Miller is very much in play to be the second overall pick in this draft.”
