After a disappointing start to the season, the Los Angeles Lakers were finally starting to build a little bit of momentum in recent weeks, especially on offense. But unfortunately for Los Angeles, the team is getting hit with a massive setback with an injury to star Anthony Davis.
As NBA insider Shams Charania reported on Sunday, Lakers star Anthony Davis will miss at least a month with a foot injury.
“Los Angeles Lakers star Anthony Davis is expected to miss at least one month after suffering a right foot injury, multiple sources tell @TheAthletic @Stadium,” Shams Charania reports.
Obviously, this is absolutely massive news for Los Angeles Lakers, and the NBA world had plenty to say about it on Twitter – especially given the timing of the report during extra time of the World Cup final.
“Already was looking like no Davis vs. Mavs on Christmas. Now it appears to be a certainty,” Brian Townshend of The Dallas Morning News said.
Brutal blow for the Lakers season. This is why they have to be so cautious on going all-in with a trade. Without AD, and LBJ, it’s just not worth mortgaging the future,” said NBA writer Keith Smith.

“HOW YOU DROP A TWEET LIKE THIS DURING THE WORLD CUP FINAL” Italo Santana said.
It’s certainly quite a blow to the Lakers.
