Anthony Davis, who is best known by his unibrow by some, is beginning to get people to forget that he has that caterpillar on his face.
In the Pelicans opening game of the season, Davis put up 50 points, 16 rebounds, five assists, seven steals and four blocks.
That is one hell of a stat line.
In the process, he broke seemingly every Opening Night record. No one in NBA history had recorded 45 points, 15 rebounds, five assists and five steals in the same game before this, per Elias Sports.
Scoring 50 points on opening night also put him in the company of Elgin Baylor, Wilt Chamberlain, and Michael Jordan.
It seems like Davis has been in the league for a decade by now but in reality, he is only 23 and has had a season lost to injury. His growth as a player is only going to skyrocket and make him into an even better player.
The most unbelievable part of his performance wasn’t on him, it was actually on his teammates. The Pelicans ended up losing to the Denver Nuggets by a score of 107-102. Davis more than held up his end of the bargain, and if the experts are right, this could be the Anthony Davis show this year. He just needs a supporting cast.
