The Golden State Warriors are an NBA-best 10-1, and that’s even before Klay Thompson returns from injury. Steph Curry has gotten big help from other players so far this season, such as Andrew Wiggins.
On Wednesday night, Wiggins had a huge performance vs the team that drafted him No. 1 overall in the 2014 NBA Draft.
Wiggins scored a team-high 35 points in the Warriors’ 123-110 win over the Minnesota Timberwolves, and he did so in extremely efficient fashion, shooting 14-of-19 from the field and 4-of-4 from the charity stripe.
Two of those field goals came on thunderous dunks over the head of Minnesota star big man Karl-Anthony Towns.
Wiggins threw down a posterizing jam on Towns in the second quarter:
And he capped off his 35-point night with a putback dunk over Towns in the fourth quarter:
Maybe the craziest thing in all of this is that Wiggins scored 13 fewer points than another Anthony in the game: Anthony Edwards (also a No. 1 overall pick by Minnesota, in the 2020 NBA Draft)
But Wiggins came out on the winning end, and more performances like this from him will have the Warriors absolutely lethal going forward.
