Rookie Amen Thompson may have just landed his first endorsement contract.

The Houston Rockets drafted the 6-foot-7 point guard with the No. 4 pick in the NBA Draft Thursday night. As the ecstatic Thompson and his parents sat for a quick interview with ESPN, he was asked what he might do to celebrate.

“We need to fly some In-N-Out out here,” Thompson said. “I need some In-N-Out. Just fly it out to New York for a day.”

For the uninitiated, In-N-Out Burger is a California-based fast-food chain with a cult-like following. Thompson, who grew up in the Oakland suburb of San Leandro, is clearly a fan.

Thompson and his family had plenty to celebrate Thursday night, as his brother, Ausar, went right after Amen with the No. 5 pick to the Detroit Pistons. That makes them the first pair of brothers selected in the top five of the same NBA Draft.

In-N-Out fans celebrated Amen Thompson’s choice for fast food, although Houston has a local fast-food chain, Whataburger, that has its own devout following.

“Amen Thompson really said he wanted In-N-Out homeboy, homeboy really from California,” noted one fan.

“Amen Thompson letting the world know In N Out is the . A hero we didn’t know we needed,” another fan tweeted.”
