Ever since Donald Trump shared his intention to host at UFC event at the White House in 2026, MMA fans have been speculating which two fighters could headline a fight card of that magnitude. And according to UFC lightweight Michael Chandler, he and Conor McGregor would be the perfect headliner for the card.

Conor McGregor hasn’t fought in the UFC in over four years. But after Trump’s announcement of a planned UFC event at the White House, McGregor did share his desire to return to the sport and fight on the White House fight card.

With this in mind, Michael Chandler, who has been scheduled to fight McGregor on numerous occasions over the past few years, only for the fight to have never come to fruition, now wants to finally settle the score with McGregor at the nation’s capital.

“I love America, I bleed red, white, and blue,” Chandler told TMZ in an interview on Monday. “It would be at the White House on our 250th anniversary. So, yeah, of course. They definitely know I’m interested. I’m going to meet with them this week in New Orleans.”

Ultimately, the event is still just under a year away. And we have seen in the past that events like this can certainly end up going south in that amount of time. So it will be interesting to see whether this event ends up happening at all.

But if it does, having someone like McGregor headline the card against Chandler makes all the sense in the world given the kind of global superstar that McGregor has shown to be. So at the very least, this possibility will certainly be a consideration for UFC President Dana White as he figures out the logistics of what would be the biggest fight card in UFC history.
