Last month, billionaire social media moguls Elon Musk and Mark Zuckerberg – the majority owners of Twitter and Facebook, respectively – shocked the Internet when they both appeared to agree to fight each other in a cage match for charity after what started out as playful online banter. And now, it looks like Musk is very seriously training for the potential fight.
On Monday afternoon, a photo surfaced showing Elon Musk following a training session with UFC Hall of Famer Georges St-Pierre as well as prominent jiu-jitsu instructor John Danaher.
St-Pierre shared the photo on Twitter.
“Great training session with 3 men that I really admire. Combined IQ in this photo is 1000. « Not including me »” St-Pierre said in a tweet, adding three crying laughing emojis. Musk replied to St-Pierre’s tweet, saying “It was an honor.”
Musk also replied to a tweet from famed computer scientist-turned-podcaster Lex Fridman, who was also at the training session and also shared the photograph on Twitter.
“Really fun! The obvious conclusion is that I need a *lot* more training,” Musk said in a tweet.
It’s pretty clear that Musk is preparing for a fight against Zuckerberg, and the news drew plenty of reactions on social media.
