While some of you might have been wrapped up in NCAA Tournament First Four games on Wednesday, the United States WBC team was busy picking up more wins in the World Baseball Classic.
Venezuela opened up a bit of a lead thanks to this Rougned Odor bomb:

Ouch. Even the pitcher knew that one was blasted before it left the park. But soon, those looks of despair would disappear for Team USA. It started with Adam Jones in the bottom of the eighth. Fitting, since the Orioles outfielder was playing in his home town of San Diego:

The big inning continued for the Americans as Eric Hosmer clinched the game for the red, white and blue:

Rough outing for Cubs reliever Hector Rondon.
Luke Gregorson came in to get the save and finish it off for the U.S. With this win, Team USA improves to 1-0 in second round play. Thus far, the Americans are 3-1 in WBC play. They are back in action Friday against Puerto Rico; hopefully they can avoid being on the receiving end of a Javy Baez tag display:
