The Cubs win the World Series in epic Game 7
I’ve never been married. I don’t have any kids. I’ve never won the lottery. My happiest moment was last night, when the Chicago Cubs (finally) won the World Series. That may sound like a (very) boring life, and whatever, I don’t care! This was the best:
As for some other great moments to come out of Game 7, this dugout conversation between Anthony Rizzo and David Ross that Fox caught on camera was fantastic:
Despite being “an emotional wreck”, Rizzo then came through with this big hit off Andrew Miller:
And David Ross then homered off Andrew Miller (not a bad way for Ross to end his career):
And then in the eighth… oh my. The Indians’ Rajai Davis ties it up off a clearly gassed Aroldis Chapman:
But, when it appeared the Cubs had maybe blown the game (and the championship), #ProfessionalHitter Ben Zobrist ripped an RBI double down the left field line to put the Cubs up 7-6 in the 10th:
And Miguel Montero — as the Cubs’ third catcher of the game — followed that with an RBI single. This ended up being huge as the Indians scored one run of their own in the bottom half of the inning:
What a game, and what a night.
Mike Evans makes a ridiculous one-handed catch
This catch from Mike Evans on Thursday night is as good as any catch you’ll see in the NFL this year:
Joakim Noah had a hilarious airball
Joakim Noah’s “tornado” is weaker than ever, apparently.
CU’s Sefo Liufau lets ref know he was facemasked, still completes first down pass
This was a hilarious sequence and quite an incredible play by CU quaterback Sefo Liufau against UCLA on Thursday night in Boulder:
