Edwin Encarnacion has one less thing to worry about. The lawsuit filed against him last year by a family friend who alleged Encarnacion gave her multiple STDs after sex has been thrown out.

Via the Toronto Star, the local judge claimed that he had no jurisdiction to hear the lawsuit, which was filed in New York, brought against Encarnacion by a woman named Ashley Lebron.

Justice Arthur Spatt ruled on the different jurisdictions in the suit, which was filed in New York against Encarnacion, a native of the Dominican Republic. Spatt ruled the New York court has no jurisdiction and dismissed the lawsuit Wednesday.

Lebron, who lives in New York, claimed the former Jay infected her with genital herpes and chlamydia. In dismissing the suit, the court also stated Lebron could not be conclusive about whether Encarnacion knew he had any diseases.

The encounter in which Lebron claimed she was infected happened in the Dominican Republic in 2016, when Encarnacion was playing for the Toronto Blue Jays.

Encarnacion left Toronto for the AL champion Cleveland Indians this offseason, and is hitting .235/.348/.417 with ten home runs.
