The legend of Shohei Ohtani continues to grow. To go with having a 2.76 ERA on the mound, the Los Angeles Angels’ two-way superstar is now tied for third in Major League Baseball in home runs after cranking No. 17 on Tuesday night against the Kansas City Royals.
And it was a magnificent bomb.
The left-handed batter hit a 470-foot two-run homer — with a 111.7 mph exit velocity — off Kansas City Royals left-hander Kris Bubic in the bottom of the first inning:
Ohtani is only one homer behind the co-leaders, Vladimir Guerrero Jr. and Ronald Acuña Jr. He also ranks fifth in slugging percentage (.602) among qualified MLB hitters.
Absolutely amazing.
