Saturday’s matchup between the Cleveland Guardians and the Seattle Mariners featured one of the most unique and strange first pitches in recent memory.
Comedian Bert Kreischer was asked to throw out the first pitch at Progressive Field in Cleveland. He did so before doing a show in Cleveland at Rocket Mortgage FieldHouse later in the night.
Early season baseball games in Cleveland can be quite cold. Saturday’s game was no exception, sitting in the mid-40s around the time of the first pitch.
This didn’t stop Kreischer from shockingly taking his shirt off to throw out the pitch, which is one of the bits that he typically does during his comedy shows.
Video of the pitch emerged on social media, which captures the crowd going wild once Kreischer took off the Guardians jersey to throw the pitch.
The pitch itself was pretty awful, hitting the dirt well ahead of reaching the catcher behind the plate. Regardless, Kreischer certainly made an impression on the MLB world. Many offered their opinion on Kreischer’s moment on social media.

Unfortunately, this moment was perhaps a bright spot for Guardians fans in attendance on Saturday night. They would go on to lose the game against the Mariners 3-2 thanks to an impressive outing from veteran Mariners pitcher Marco Gonzales.
