The San Diego Padres have been slammin’ the heck out of Texas Rangers pitching over the last four days.
On Monday night, Fernando Tatis Jr. hit a grand slam that irked the Rangers and the unwritten rules crowd. On Tuesday night, Wil Myers hit a grand slam. On Wednesday night, Manny Machado cranked a walk-off grand slam.
And on Thursday night, Eric Hosmer made it grand slams in four straight games for the Padres. That’s an MLB record.
Incredible. And another wild factoid: the Padres have five grand slams this season, while the rest of the NL West has zero grand slams, and the rest of the NL has only four grand slams.
As Fox Sports San Diego’s Don Orsillo put it on Hosmer’s grand slam, “Welcome to Slam Diego!”
