The Boston Red Sox needed 13 innings to win Game 3 of their American League Division Series matchup with the Tampa Bay Rays, but they did so in style. In the bottom of the 13th inning, following a J.D. Martinez flyout, Hunter Renfroe walked, and then Christian Vázquez belted a game-winning two-run home run:

That’s quite the shot from Vázquez (pictured celebrating above), clearing the Green Monster in left. And it came after a controversial ground rule double ruling prevented the Rays from scoring a run in the top of the 13th. But there wasn’t any dispute about this home run, and it gave the Red Sox the win.
That win put the Red Sox up 2-1 in the series. They lost Game 1 5-0 on Thursday, but rebounded to win 14-6 Friday. Now, they’ll be going for the series win Monday night at home.
