Cecil Fielder was one of the best power hitters in baseball, blasting 319 home runs — and 51 homers in 1990 — with a .482 slugging percentage over his 13-year MLB career (1985-88, 1990-98).
Then Cecil’s son, Prince, became one of the best power hitters in baseball. Prince also hit 319 home runs — it’s pretty wild that they both hit exactly 319 homers, right? — with a .506 SLG over a 12-year MLB career (2005-16).
And now Prince’s son, Jadyn, appears to have the makings of a slugging star. On Friday, Prince posted a video on Instagram of Jadyn crushing a home run.
A very powerful swing that runs in the family.
Prince was also hitting bombs at a very young age. In fact, he was hitting homers in batting practice as a switch-hitter at Tiger Stadium vs Terry Francona in 1996.
Perhaps Jadyn will also turn this tremendous young power into a big-league career down the road.
