The Pittsburgh Pirates have a new videoboard on the right field wall at beautiful PNC Park, and they picked an incredible way to show it off for the team’s home opener on Friday.
For an in-game contest, the Pirates had a fan on the right field warning track to use the videoboard to play a live-action version of Super Mario Run. Well, technically, it’s a Pirates-themed “Super Bucco Run”, but they obviously didn’t make it difficult to figure out what the game is based off of.
Here’s video of this awesome game in action:

That looks like an absolute blast and some A+ in-game entertainment (to everyone but those two umpires, at least). Well done, Pirates and PNC Park.
During the (baseball) game, the videoboard just looks like your usual scoreboard:
At PNC – the right field scoreboard looks … fine, I guess? pic.twitter.com/IyOExLQlLY

While everyone appreciates a scoreboard at the ballgame, I have a feeling fans at PNC Park will definitely enjoy that videoboard more between innings.
