Saturday baseball action between the Cleveland Guardians and the Kansas City Royals brought some history for Guardians top prospect Nolan Jones
Jones was called up by the Guardians on Friday and made an impact on his debut, going 2-3 with an RBI double on Friday night.
He decided to one-up his debut game in a big way on Saturday.
In the fourth inning of Saturday’s game, Jones hit a massive 457-foot home run for the first in his major league career, splashing into a part of the fountains at Kansas City’s Kauffman Stadium that doesn’t even get hit by baseballs.
It was certainly an impressive way to kick off his MLB career, with the home run on Saturday being the seventh-longest recorded home run in the Statcast area for a Guardians player.
Nolan Jones just hit the 7th-longest home run for Cleveland in the Statcast era (since 2015).

This home run capped off an impressive day for the Guardian offense, who scored 13 runs on the day.
It is impressive for any player to hit a ball that far, but for someone to do so in their second MLB game is definitely a huge statement.
The win moved the Guardians to three games out of a wild card spot and 3.5 out in the American League Central.
If Jones can continue to make an impact in his first year at the major league level, they may be a dark horse to watch in the American League down the stretch.
