New York Mets center fielder Albert Almora left the eighth inning of Tuesday night’s game against the Baltimore Orioles after sprinting back and crashing face-first into the wall while chasing a flyball. Almora was unable to make the catch, with the ball popping out of his glove upon impact.
When you see the play, you can understand why he was unable to make the catch- and why he was in considerable pain. Thankfully, he was eventually able to get up and walk off under his own power.

A positive sign, as Almora was exiting the field, he looked up at the crowd and said: “I’m alright. I’m alright.”

That play is a great example of how Almora plays center field, and he had some scares while running into the Wrigley Field brick-and-ivy walls while with the Chicago Cubs from 2016-20. But his fearless style has also resulted in making some remarkable plays.
You have to appreciate that kind of effort, and hopefully Almora will be okay.
