Major League Baseball continued award season on Wednesday by handing out the Cy Young Awards. To the surprise of nobody, Max Scherzer of the Washington Nationals took home the National League Cy Young. Rick Porcello of the Boston Red Sox received the American League Cy Young Award, and not everybody was pleased about the news.
Kate Upton took to Twitter to express her anger over her fiancé, Justin Verlander of the Detroit Tigers, not winning the award. Upton used some choice language in the direction of Major League Baseball on Twitter, which came across rather humorous.
Oh, Upton is fired up and she wants names!
And the fun doesn’t start there! Upton retweeted Verlander’s younger brother, Ben Verlander, who took a look at the voting breakdown.
Verlander won the AL Cy Young Award in 2011, so it’s not exactly like his trophy mantle is empty. Plus he’s engaged to Upton, so he’s doing just fine. But you just have to love the devotion of significant others in sports. One has to wonder if Verlander will come after Sports Illustrated the next time Upton doesn’t grace the cover of the swimsuit issue.
Can't wait until @JustinVerlander gets after @SiSwim when Kate isn't picked at some point.
