Cricket to me has always felt like Ulysses but for sports.

Many people enjoy it around the world, including people with sophisticated opinions and interests, and yet I can’t figure the damn thing out at all.

But it still looks really fun to take a giant bat (or paddle, depending on your interests) and swing it like a combination baseball bat/golf club at an incoming ball.

The USA National Cricket Team visited the Cubs spring training facility in Mesa, Arizona, and yes, the United States has a cricket team. It’s not that great a cricket team, but that’s probably what happens when the International Cricket Council suspends the sport’s USA governing body (the USACA) three times in a decade for shady practices.

It’s actually pretty interesting to read about, if you like a good sports corruption rabbit hole.

Do you want to know the whole terrifying truth? Or do you want to see Anthony Rizzo sock a few cricket dingers?

The people have spoken:

If Rizzo is slashing .210/.300/.310 in June, I really hope he pins the entire season on the cricket swings from spring training.
