The second annual Field of Dreams game is set to take place on Thursday between the Chicago Cubs and the Cincinnati Reds, and the fans at home may receive a very controversial touch to the broadcast involving former legendary broadcaster Harry Caray.
Caray was a beloved figure in Chicago, calling both Cubs and Chicago White Sox games over his over 50-year broadcasting career. Fox is reportedly playing with the idea of showing the late broadcaster in a reanimated hologram form, according to Timothy Burke.
“A man hears Fox is testing a reanimated Harry Caray in hologram form for tomorrow’s Field of Dreams game? Someone who has seen the footage says it is “unconvincing” and possibly offensive.”
Many around the MLB world are taking notice of this speculation from Burke, and they believe that this idea would not go over well with the people of Chicago whatsoever.

It’s safe to say that holograms of the deceased never really go over all that well, so it is definitely a very peculiar thing for Fox to consider if this report is indeed true.
There has been no indication from Fox that they will actually go through with this idea just yet, but it would certainly make for a ton of eyes to be glued the game for all the wrong reasons.
Caray has had a lasting impact on the game of baseball, including popularizing the singing of “Take Me Out to the Ball Game” during the seventh inning stretch of baseball games.
Disgracing him in any way would definitely be a dark spot for Fox, so hopefully they reconsider the possibility of the hologram on Thursday.
