The Subway Series between the New York Mets and New York Yankees has been one filled with strange fan interactions, highlighted by a viral video emerged of a Yankees fan drinking a beer through a hot dog straw, but that was far from the only incident regarding a fan that occurred in Monday’s game.

Another incident caught the attention of the MLB world on Monday, with a fan jumping the right field fence onto the field during the bottom of the 7th inning after a single from Yankees outfielder Andrew Benintendi.

It never ends well when fans runs onto the field, and things went no differently for this fan, as he was quickly corralled by security despite a brief struggle and escorted off the field.

While many fans in attendance get excited when someone gets onto the field, it is something that can have some pretty severe consequences for the perpetrator.

According to the New York Post, this fan that was tackled by police could face a criminal trespassing charge, a night in jail, and a lifetime ban from Yankee Stadium for his actions.

It seems like a risk that is not worth the short-term reward of notoriety, yet fans still go ahead and do this plenty of times throughout the duration of an MLB season.

He got his five minutes of fame, but chances are he will not be seen at Yankees Stadium for the foreseeable future moving forward.
