Anyone following the Los Angeles Dodgers Twitter account Wednesday noticed something very strange.
There’s a baby boom going on among Dodgers players.
The Dodgers announced not one, not two, but three births to players and their partners.
First, Mookie Betts and his wife, Brianna Hammonds, welcomed a son, Kaj Lynn.
In the very next tweet the Dodgers sent out, they announced the arrival of a son, Beau Gray Phillips, for relief pitcher Evan Phillips and his wife, Elizabeth.
Finally, the Dodgers announced the birth of Wyatt James Muncy, to proud parents Max and Kellie.
One baby announcement is great. Two in the same day makes people think, “Wow, what a coincidence.” Three birth announcements in one day, and everyone is wondering: what was going on nine months ago?
You don’t need AI to figure out that nine months ago would have been right around the All-Star break. A few days off, lots of free time … stranger things have happened.
Yet that theory fails, because the Phillips’ son was actually due in early June, but arrived early.
Whatever caused the baby boom, Twitter certainly had fun with the topic.
