It was a special night in Williamsport on Sunday. The St. Louis Cardinals and Pittsburgh Pirates played in the first MLB Little League Classic at Bowman Field in front of 2,596 fans, including the players participating in the Little League World Series (at a complex five miles away).

The Pirates came away with a 6-3 victory, and got two of their runs on this massive blast from Josh Bell:

But the night was about much, much more than the game result, and the Cardinals and Pirates were well aware of that. After the game ended, the big-league clubs showed off some good sportmanship by forming a handshake line, just like the little leaguers do.

And during the day, it was the big leaguers that were the fans in attendance, as they went to the Little League World Series:

A very cool day in Williamsport, and well done by MLB to set this all up.
