Bryce Harper is off to an amazing start to the season with 11 homers and 29 RBI’s but more importantly he’s on a mission to “make baseball fun again”. I’m down with that.
First it was hats, and now, he has a “Make Baseball Fun Again” sticker on his bat that he showed off during this afternoon’s game against Miami.
Neatly placed right on the knob of his bat, facing the camera so that everyone can see it. In an election season that has very little worth backing, this is a campaign we can all get behind, especially if Yasiel Puig joins in as another spokesman.
From ESPN’s Marly Rivera, here’s what Puig had to say about Bryce’s campaign:
“I’m just waiting to get my shirts and baseball caps. He is always been a great friend and a great athlete, and I admire him.”
“We have to make baseball fun for the fans and not take everything so personal. In baseball, it is more common for a pitcher to punch you out three times than for you to hit the ball out of the park. So after you have struck out three times against a pitcher and you finally get a home run, bat flips are just an emotional expression – not about taunting the pitcher.”
Godspeed to both of you. Make Baseball Fun Again.
