Bryce Harper is putting together monstrous numbers in his second season with the Philadelphia Phillies. The six-time All-Star blasted a 470-f00t dinger in Saturday night’s Phillies game against the Atlanta Braves at Truist Park.
Home runs of 470-plus feet from left-handed hitters vs left-handed pitchers certainly don’t happen often. The home run is the second-longest of Harper’s career (according to Statcast), behind only a 473-foot homer he hit in 2018.
And it’s the second-longest homer in the majors so far this season,
Harper is currently sixth in the majors in batting average (.343), second in on-base percentage (.483), second in slugging percentage (.714), first in OPS (1.197), first in wOBA (.491), and first in wRC+ (214).
To this point of the 2020 season, Harper has been the best hitter in baseball, and he’s showing why he received a contract worth $330 million from the Phillies last year.
