The Milwaukee Brewers provided exciting news to their fans on Friday. With MLB Opening Day approaching, the Brewers hope to stay alive in the National League Central Division this season despite some changes this offseason.

However, Milwaukee made a massive splash on Friday with a significant announcement. Milwaukee will welcome its top prospect to the show, as Jackson Chourio will join the Brew Crew for Opening Day 2024.

Chourio, the second-ranked prospect in MLB, is just 20 years old, so this is a pretty remarkable move.

“Get ready to watch Jackson Chourio on Opening Day!” MLB’s X account boasted before noting that the exciting Chourio made the Brewers’ roster.

The Brewers will certainly look different after the past few seasons. In the offseason, Milwaukee traded ace Corbin Burnes to reigning AL East champion Baltimore, and their Cy Young award winner is no longer on the team. They didn’t make many significant moves on offense in the offseason besides signing Rhys Hoskins.

So, Chourio’s addition almost feels like a top-flight acquisition in itself. Just 20 years old, Chourio is an aggressive hitter with great speed and can hit for power. Milwaukee hasn’t been as proficient on offense as they have on the mound in recent years. But Chourio could become an impact player and quickly.

Milwaukee’s decision to call Chourio up is in line with the Texas Rangers’ decision to call top prospect Wyatt Langford up. But the aforementioned Orioles? They won’t call shortstop Jackson Holliday up yet.
