Los Angeles Angels stars Mike Trout and Shohei Ohtani have done some special things in their careers. They added to that with some monstrous home runs in Wednesday’s matchup against the Chicago White Sox that broke some team history when it comes to Statcast.

Trout started things off in a big way in the first inning, hitting a blast out to deep left-center field for a two-run home run. It was initially recorded at 476 feet, which would have been the fourth-longest home run of his career.

The Angels got out to an early lead in this game, which was only added to when Ohtani one-upped Trout, hitting a home run initially projected at 478 feet.

Both were later downgraded to 461 feet and 459 respectively after initial recordings, but they certainly passed the eye test to fans at home.

The two Angels stars may be the best duo in the entire league, and these home runs broke team records for the longest home runs by Angels teammates. According to MLB reporter Sarah Langs, it is the first time that the Angels have had multiple 450+ feet home runs in a game since Statcast was introduced in 2015.

Both have been as good as advertised this season, sitting in the top ten in the MLB in home runs on the year. While they have played extremely well on the field individually, it hasn’t exactly led to team success for the Angels.

They have been average but far from exceptional this season, coming into Wednesday’s game with a 29-27 record. However, if they continue to have games like this they will be among the best teams in the American League in no time.
