Top high school basketball recruit Cooper Flagg, who is ranked No. 2 in the Class of 2025, is expected to be a name to watch once he progresses throughout his basketball career. And it now turns out college basketball fans will likely get to see him at the collegiate level earlier than expected.
Flagg took to social media to Friday to reveal that he will be reclassifying to the class of 2024, meaning that he will only have one more year of high school basketball to go before he can play in college.
ESPN’s Jeff Borzello posted a screenshot of the official announcement from Flagg on Twitter, which came from Flagg’s Instagram account.
Flagg has still yet to make his official decision on where he will play in college, but this also means that this looming decision will likely now come much sooner from him.
Fans took notice of this news and are certainly happy that he will be in the public spotlight far sooner now.
Cooper Flagg will now graduate a year ahead of time. Have to assume the risk of getting injured played a role in this decision https://t.co/LajsC35gJN

Let me be the first to say Cooper Flagg will have a better all around NBA career compared to Wemby https://t.co/AGUsmT8Pt8

This decision from Flagg seems to be a good one in terms of where this puts him in the 2024 recruiting class compared to the 2025 class he was previously in.
Eric Bossi of 247 Sports revealed that Flagg is now ranked No. 1 in the class of 2024 in the 247 Sports recruiting rankings.
Wherever he does end up committing to, it seems pretty clear that he will be a big difference-maker right away and potentially have a claim to potentially end up going No. 1 in the 2025 NBA Draft if all goes well in college.
