Many golfers — and people in the golf community — wore red on Sunday in honor of Tiger Woods, while Woods is recovering from serious injuries suffered in Tuesday’s single-car accident. Red shirts and black pants were found all over the WGC-Workday Championship, the Puerto Rico Open, and the Gainbridge LPGA on Sunday.
Some examples:
Well, Woods took notice of the incredible tribute, and tweeted in response on Sunday evening:
“It is hard to explain how touching today was when I turned on the tv and saw all the red shirts. To every golfer and every fan, you are truly helping me get through this tough time.”
There have been two tweets from Woods’ camp through the account updating his condition, but this is first one directly from him. So, hopefully this is a sign that Woods is making some progress and on the road to recovery. At the very least, it’s good to know that Sunday’s tribute gave Woods a mental boost in this difficult time.
