The 85th annual Masters Tournament officially got underway Thursday and sports fans around the world are rejoicing at the sight of Tiger Woods returning to his favorite golf course.

Woods went through a week of practice rounds to see whether or not his body can withstand what can be a rigorous 18-hole walk for four straight days, should he make the cut. His first round of PGA Tour golf since his horrific car accident that resulted in a broken leg is now underway, and he has been turning heads with how well he is playing considering the circumstances.

Tiger received a thunderous ovation from fans excited to see him back in an awesome moment for the sport of golf.

As far as how his actual golf game has been on Thursday, he has shown glimpses of the old Tiger Woods that golf fans have adored over the years. Woods hit an awesome shot on hole 6 that was nearly a hole-in-one, which would have broken the internet had it gone in.

This shot did result in the first birdie of the day for the five-time Masters’ winner, which got many declaring that Tiger is officially back.

There is certainly a ton of golf to still be played, but Woods’ golf game looks like it’s in good shape. Hopefully, he can keep it up and compete for the entire weekend.

Ultimately, the golf shots are certainly not the issue. It will be whether or not his body can hold up through the weekend with all of the walking he’ll need to do. Regardless, Woods even being able to play in this tournament, considering he nearly lost his leg a year ago in his accident, is miraculous and certainly an awesome moment to watch.
