Buffalo Bills quarterback Josh Allen is a star in his own right, but meeting Tiger Woods certainly seems to have reminded him what a megastar the golfer is.
Allen had the chance to meet Woods for the first time at last weekend’s Genesis Invitational. The two crossed paths and the NFL quarterback was clearly starstruck by the encounter with the 15-time major winner.
In the clip, Allen tells Woods he “puts on a good tournament,” as Woods runs the invitational, and then thanks him and tells the legendary golfer that he “appreciates him.”
Afterward, Allen told reporters that it was a very special moment for him.
“A little starstruck, obviously,” he said. “He’s one of the only athletes ever – him and Kobe – they’re the two that I actually felt my heart beat faster. You know, when he’s standing over a putt for a tournament, I legit felt the pressure with him. It was pretty cool, I’ll never forget it.
“Yeah, I’m kinda speechless, that was pretty cool.”
Woods did well in his return to the golf course. Although he failed to make the cut, he finished the weekend one under par. Not too shabby for the 47-year-old who is still dealing with the effects of a major car crash two years ago.
