Pat Perez made an accusation against golf star Phil Mickelson that the LIV golfer considered “unforgivable.”
Fox News wrote on Tuesday that Mickelson’s biographer Alan Shipnuck penned details of a confrontation between Perez and Mickelson. According to Mickelson’s book, he’s alleged to have shown Perez’s wife an “offensive picture.”
“Shipnuck wrote in the book ‘Phil’ that Mickelson once showed Perez’s wife, Ashley, an ‘offensive’ picture, which may have spurred the feud between the two golf pros. The book says Mickelson invited Perez and his wife to dinner in New Jersey during the 2015 Barclays Tournament,” Fox News wrote.
Perez had previously detailed that he had a “hate” for Mickelson. At the time, he didn’t divulge into details as to why that was beyond saying that he committed an “unforgivable” act.
GolfDigest wrote at the time after Perez appeared on Claude Harmon’s “Son of a Butch” podcast, “When it comes to Phil, I have a different hate for Phil than most people. … People won’t know the story—I’m not going to go into the story again—but Phil crossed the line with me that is just uncrossable and unforgivable.”
While Perez declined to comment to the New York Post after the story was made, connecting the dots here doesn’t take long. Mickelson’s attorney feverishly denied it, but it could be a plausible theory.
