After a rather successful weekend around The Grange in Adelaide, Australia, LIV golfer Dustin Johnson was asked a bit of a peculiar question.

LIV Golf experienced a great deal of success in the Land Down Under, as The Grange in Adelaide was sold out for three consecutive days. It was a great debut in Australia for the Saudi-backed venture, as Johnson’s 4Aces GC had just won their first team title of the season.

So when Johnson was asked about how PGA Tour commissioner Jay Monahan would be feeling, he didn’t exactly hold back.

“We don’t give a damn how he feels. We know how he feels about us, so it’s mutual,” Johnson said via the Australian Associated Press.

As one would expect, those comments didn’t go over particularly well in the golf world. In an event to prevent any further issues, with tensions between PGA Tour and LIV Golf already high as is, those comments have now been deleted from LIV Golf’s official transcriptions from the post-event interviews.

While Johnson may have taken a shot at the PGA Tour and its commissioner, this past weekend in Australia was exactly what he was hoping for when he made the decision to resign his Tour membership in favor of the Saudi-back professional golf tour.

“I thought this is what it would get to,” Johnson said.

It remains to be seen if LIV Golf can continue the success of this past weekend. What we do know, though, is there’s no love lost between Johnson and that of the PGA Tour.
