LIV Golf is the subject of heavy scrutiny after the way an Australian golf course was left following one of its events.

The Advertiser published a report that cited significant frustration from a golf course in Adelaide, Australia, that hosted a LIV Golf Tour event. GolfDigest cited the news and said a few members at the club, The Grange, were upset over how the course was left after the tournament.

“Some members at The Grange are upset over the repercussions of hosting the fledgling league’s event, most notably the deterioration of the course caused by all the beer around the Watering Hole and temporary installations that resulted in ‘six weeks with a compromised course.’ With club fees that exceed $4,000 a year, separate from an initiation fee of $7,500, several members have been vocal over their displeasure at the way the LIV event was run and what has followed ever since,” GolfDigest wrote.

The publication tweeted that the club members were “furious” over “excessive” damage to the course and don’t plan to host a LIV Golf event again. The course won’t be playable for six months, according to The Advertiser.

The tour continues to leave controversy no matter where it goes, it seems. This latest installment could see them take a major hit, as losing an international brand due to sloppiness is a public embarrassment.
