It’s safe to say that the PGA Tour and the sport of golf have changed a lot over the past few months. And according to one PGA Tour star, the league has one thing to thank for that: LIV Golf.

This week, Jon Rahm was asked about what caused the PGA Tour to make so many changes recently, and he got extremely honest, revealing that LIV Golf is the reason why the PGA Tour was forced to evolve. And he thinks The Tour should be “thankful” for the Saudi-backed league.

“Oh, it’s LIV Golf. I mean, without a doubt,” Rahm said according to Outkick. “Without LIV Golf, this wouldn’t have happened. So to an extent, like I’ve said before, we should be thankful this threat has made the PGA Tour want to change things. I think I said it last week, as well; I wish it didn’t come to the PGA Tour being, you know, under fire from somebody else to make those changes and make things better for the players, but I guess it is what we needed. So, yeah, it is because of LIV Golf, otherwise we wouldn’t have seen any of this.”

He’s not wrong – LIV Golf certainly did force many changes in the game. But it’s not yet clear whether or not those changes are for the better.
