PGA Tour star Jon Rahm showed exactly why he is regarded as one of the best golfers in the world, winning the 2023 Masters Tournament on Sunday. What many don’t know is that this is something that has been a long time in the making for him.
A past tweet emerged after his victory that shows Rahm called his victory at Augusta National more than nine years ago.
Rahm posted a picture of a fortune cookie back in 2013, which he believed meant that he was destined to win the Masters.
“Your talents will be recognized and suitably rewarded,” the fortune cookie read.
This led Rahm to post a caption saying that he was going to win the Masters.
“I am gonna win the masters!” Rahm tweeted back in November 2013.
This kind of tweet from Rahm clearly shows that he believed in himself before anyone else ever did. He wasn’t even officially a pro golfer until 2016, meaning that he saw his career success coming way ahead of time.
Many took notice of this unbelievable story and offered their opinion on Rahm’s wild previous tweet.
This victory makes Jon Rahm a two-time major tournament winner, as he previously won the U.S. Open in 2021.
While players like Tiger Woods and Rory McIlroy largely dominate the headlines in the world of golf, Rahm may quickly start to become the face of the sport if he can continue this unreal stretch of play.
