When it comes to dealing with a group of golfers ahead of you who are playing slow, there aren’t necessarily rules. However, violence shouldn’t be one of the ways to solve it.
If only someone told these guys that.
At Cleveland Heights Golf Club in Lakeland, Fla., a group of golfers confronted others playing a round. The confrontation allegedly had to do with slow play and it resulted in a physical altercation. Thanks to recent technology, we were able to watch it go down.
It has everything you could anticipate in a fight. Punches were thrown and some fell — all while sporting polos.
There was even a kick attempt at one point and someone said they could go viral.
The ladder was very true.
While it doesn’t appear anyone was hurt — at least physically, it goes to show how impatient people are.
There isn’t a set time for how long it should take you to play a round, or how long you should spend at each hole.
According to a USGA study conducted in 2017, an average player (who also likes to exaggerate how good they are) we’re looking at around three hours and 47 minutes to play all 18 holes.
That of course is if you simply play golf. Those numbers don’t take into account being distracted, getting drinks, telling jokes (longer if you get a laugh response), and of course, bathroom breaks.
Either way, you should know no matter what pace you’re playing at, it’ll still be too slow for some people.
