The stock market is having a rough go of things following United States President Donald Trump’s tariff announcements on Wednesday. Many people have deep worries about their 401Ks after the DOW suffered its worst day in years.
It seems, however, that it’s not at the top of Trump’s concerns heading into the weekend. The President appears more focused on his dealings with the Saudi-based LIV golf event he’s hosting this weekend.
“After launching economic chaos and uncertainty with his tariffs, Trump now heads to FL for the rest of the week to host a Saudi-owned LIV golf tournament,” editor-in-chief of Meidas Touch Ron Fililpkowski reported on Thursday.
People reacted to the news that Trump is prioritizing golf over the economy on social media.
“First he disrupts the economy with chaotic tariffs, then spends the weekend hosting a Saudi-funded golf event. Btw, it costs us $3.1+ million per day that he swings his club aimlessly in Florida,” one person wrote on Twitter.
“so just to recap: he destabilized global trade, tanked farmer incomes, raised consumer prices, and is now teeing off on a course funded by a regime with questionable views on human rights. this is literally late-stage empire energy. i can’t even,” another person added.
“If Trump commits a crime during this event, will he claim that hosting golf tournament’s is an official presidential duty so that he’ll have immunity from prosecution?” one person wanted to know.
It’ll be interesting to see if and when Trump decides to take the tanking economy seriously.
