United States President Donald Trump got some bad news this weekend as one of his beloved golf courses was vandalized by protesters.

Donald Trump owns several golf courses across the country, but his Turnberry course in Scotland is one of the most prestigious as it has hosted multiple Open Championships throughout its history. Unfortunately, it was hit by vandals this week.

Over the weekend, a group of pro-Palestine protesters vandalized the golf course, dumping red paint all over the clubhouse, spraying graffiti throughout the grounds and even damaging several of the putting greens.

The group Palestine Action is taking credit for the damage following the comments Trump made about the Gaza Strip. Trump recently suggested that the United States could take control of the Gaza Strip and redevelop it with resorts.

Of course, this is especially bad news because Trump once made it clear that his Turnberry course was one of his three favorite golf courses that he owns.

“I’ve no interest in taking on any other projects at the moment because I just can’t top the threesome of Turnberry, Doonbeg and Aberdeen. Realistically I just can’t see that happening: where am I going to find 500 acres on the Atlantic, where are you going to find another Turnberry? Turnberry is one of the great places of the world. It’s just about everybody’s favorite course. So where are you going to find places like this?” Trump said in the past.

“We have Aberdeen, Turnberry, and Doonbeg, I call it the Trump Triangle. They’re all extra special though having said that if I can find somewhere else unique I’d be interested. But at the moment I have no interest and I don’t think there is anywhere around.”

The incident led the course to be shut down as they worked to deal with the vandalism.
