As the second round of the 2022 U.S Open neared its completion on Friday, one moment captured the heart of the golf world.
Cameron Young was experiencing a difficult round for most of his day, sitting at +7 on the day and +9 for the tournament through 13 holes on the day, featuring a horrific quadruple-bogey on No. 3.
He turned everything around, starting with a birdie on No. 5 which clearly ignited something inside of Young.
It was the next hole where he truly gave the golf world something special. Young hit an incredible tee shot that produced the first hole-in-one in the four U.S. Opens played at The Country Club in Brookline.
This historic feat by Young has many around the golf world talking, with many praising him for his historic moment.
Young’s hole-in-one was just the 48th ace in the history of the U.S Open, which is extremely impressive considering the event debuted in 1895.
This led to even more success for Young, as he went on to birdie holes 7 and 8.
Aside from his quadruple bogey, he had a terrific back-nine that would have certainly put Young through to play the weekend.
Regardless, his hole-in-one is something that no other golfer has ever accomplished at the tournament, and that is certainly a positive that Young can take away from his 2022 U.S. Open experience.
