While most Americans survive record-low temperatures this Christmas season, former president Barack Obama is vacationing in Hawaii.
TMZ obtained photos of Barack Obama, “sporting a pink shirt, white shorts and a pair of sunnies” while playing a round of golf in Hawaii.
The outlet said Obama enjoyed the round on the link with “some pals,” while the location of his wife and children remained unclear.
Obama made a brief return to public life during the 2022 midterm elections, in which he campaigned for various Democratic candidates—including the Georgia Senator Raphael Warnock in his bitterly contested victory over Republican Herschel Walker.
Obama is no stranger to the golf course. Golf Digest reported Obama enjoyed over 300 rounds of golf during his presidency, which were heady numbers until former president Donald Trump supplanted them in the following administration.
“I will say that, generally, I think that, you know, sports and leisure activities are a good way for release and clearing of the mind for a lot of us,” then-White House spokesman Eric Schultz told reporters about Obama golfing during the various crises of this presidency.
Obama and his wife, Michelle, built an $8.7 million mansion on the island of Oahu over the protestations of native Hawaiians and environmentalists in 2015, shortly before Obama left the presidency.
