In the aftermath of a mass shooting at a Tops grocery store in Buffalo that claimed the lives of at least 10 people, many in the Buffalo sports world have expressed their grief and well wishes to the victims, their families, and the Buffalo community.
Buffalo Bills quarterback Josh Allen expressed that he was “absolutely heartbroken” following the tragic events.
Several of Allen’s teammates, along with the Bills’ Twitter feed, also shared their sadness and best wishes.
Buffalo’s other teams, including the NHL’s Buffalo Sabres, National Lacrosse League’s Buffalo Bandits, and Minor League Baseball’s Buffalo Bisons (Triple-A affiliate of the Toronto Blue Jays) all took to Twitter to issue statements of sadness, as well as wishes to the victims and their loved ones.
Other individuals in the sports community, including those who play for and cover Buffalo’s teams, also reached out with their feelings in the aftermath of the tragic attack.
This shooting comes less than 24 hours after three different shootings took place in Milwaukee’s Deer District on Friday, where people had gathered to watch Game 6 of the NBA Playoff series between the Milwaukee Bucks and Boston Celtics. Fortunately, the incidents in Milwaukee didn’t result in any immediate fatalities.
Following those shootings, the Bucks announced that a previously planned watch party for Game 7 of the series will be canceled.
