A bus carrying the Humboldt Broncos of the Saskatchewan Junior Hockey League was involved in a collision with a transport truck Friday night.
According to the Royal Canadian Mounted Police, “fatalities have been confirmed, as have a number of injuries.”
The Broncos were on the way to play a game against the Nipawin Hawks. The Hawks’ team president, Darren Opp, said that the semi t-boned the team bus. (via TSN):

“It’s a horrible accident, my God,” he said. “It’s very, very bad.”

The Saskatchewan Junior Hockey League features North American-born players from ages 16-20.
UPDATE: 14 people have died according to the RCMP, and 14 more people are being treated for injuries at a hospital, with three of those people being in critical condition. Absolutely heartbreaking.
