The Madden NFL Cover release is right around the corner. News trickled out Monday morning that the cover and the player who would grace the cover of the popular video game series on Wednesday. Pro Football Talk was among those discussing the cover reveal news.

The Madden NFL 24 video game will come at a fascinating time for football video gamers. Next summer, the highly-anticipated NCAA Football series will return to EA Sports, and they’re set to release the game. Nagging gameplay issues have continued for over a decade, which has frustrated gamers.

But obviously, the ballyhoo will now be about who will grace the cover. The rumored name on social media is Buffalo Bills quarterback Josh Allen. Unconfirmed rumors have linked the Bills QB to the title, ‘Madden NFL cover athlete.’ He would join an illustrious list of players who’ve made it onto the Madden NFL cover, including Hall of Famers Barry Sanders, Marshall Faulk, Ray Lewis, and Troy Polamalu, as well as Michael Vick, Larry Fitzgerald, Shaun Alexander, and Richard Sherman.

Now, of course, he and Bills fans would have to deal with talk of the dreaded “Madden curse.”

Josh Allen would become the first Buffalo Bill to grace the Madden game if he were named EA’s cover athlete on Wednesday. So, all eyes will now be on that unveiling.
