Brunson was a 10-time World Series of Poker Bracelet winner, with his wins spanning from 1976-2005. That includes back-to-back wins at the No Limit Hold’em World Championship, fka, the Main Event, in 1976 and 1977. In both years, his final hand was a 10-2. That starting hand has subsequently been named after him. Brunson is one of only four men to win the Main Event more than once.
Brunson was also an author, penning the poker strategy book, Super/System, which was published in 1978. An updated version, Super/System 2, came out in 2014.
