Colorado quarterback Shedeur Sanders has stirred up a lot of hype so far. The son of Deion Sanders, Shedeur has played extremely well for the Buffaloes during their 3-0 start. But according to one legendary quarterback, Sheduer has not done nearly enough. That legendary QB? None other than Tom Brady.
On his Let’s Go! podcast with Jim Gray, Sanders and the Colorado Buffaloes became a topic of discussion. During the conversation, which featured Brady, Gray, and Colorado head coach Deion Sanders, a conversation was had on Shedeur. Namely, the fact that the 21-year-old quarterback drives a Rolls Royce.
Brady, cheekily, had quite the message for the talented Sanders. “He needs to get his *** in the film room and spend as much time in there as possible and less time in the car,” he said.
It’s important to remember, of course, that Brady and Sanders have a preexisting relationship. Brady revealed that he’s something of a mentor for the Colorado quarterback in an interview with Boston.com. “I’m always here for him. Because in him I see someone who has a great work ethic but wants the knowledge too.”
In other words, it’s probably likely that Brady was just joking around on the show with Deion about his kid. But it is true that Brady and the best are the ones who allow themselves to be immersed in the game.
Shedeur and the Buffs face a tough test this weekend. Colorado travels to Eugene to face the 10th-ranked Oregon Ducks at Autzen Stadium. It will easily be the toughest environment they’ve played so far. So, we’ll know a heck of a lot more on them after Saturday afternoon.
