No. 1 Tennessee is finding out early it’s hard being at the top. No. 3 Georgia is giving the Vols all they want in the first half of this contest.
Georgia quarterback Stetson Bennett already has three touchdowns, two passing, and one rushing. Bennett has looked more like a Heisman Trophy candidate than Vols quarterback Hendon Hooker who has only thrown for 88 yards and one interception.
The difference in this game so far has been the play of both defenses. While the Dawgs’ defense has managed to contain Hooker and the Vol’s offense, Tennessee’s defense has not had an answer for the Georgia offense.
Georgia, who isn’t known to have a quick strike offense like the Vols, has mixed it up with the run and pass, which has basically kept their offense off the field.
Even when it looked like the Vols may get back in it in the first half, the Georgia defense intercepted Hooker’s pass in the endzone to stop the drive.
This game has left the college football world stunned as many thought this would be a close game between the two, but so far, it hasn’t.
As you tell, a lot of fans are having fun taking shots at the Vols at least in the first half. It will be interesting to see if Georgia can continue their dominance in the second half, leading 24-6.
