The TCU Horned Frogs were completely outmatched in the CFP National Championship against the Georgia Bulldogs, falling to Georgia in an embarrassing 65-7 loss. This type of beatdown has many around the college football world blasting TCU head coach Sonny Dykes for his team’s epic failure on Monday night.

It was clear from the start to Dykes and his Horned Frogs team did not come to play. The game was largely over by halftime with Georgia going into the half with a 38-7 lead, and things only got worse from there.

This victory for Georgia speaks both to their utter dominance and TCU’s epic failure. This game was the largest margin of victory in a bowl game in college football history.

Georgia was undoubtedly the more talented team, but for Dykes’ team to come out so entirely flat on the biggest stage has college football fans taking to social media to blast him following the loss.

“I wanna feel bad for TCU right now but Sonny Dykes whining all year long about them not getting any respect kinda makes it impossible. What a shellacking,” tweeted Dante the Don of Barstool Sports.

“I wished TCU players well… I know there a whole second half but Dykes demise is my happy surprise,” tweeted New Orleans Saints star Cameron Jordan.

Former NFL tight end Benjamin Watson also mocked Dykes by tweeting out his quote about the SEC not having a difficult non-conference schedule late in the year.

“We don’t have the good fortune to play an out-of-conference game like the SEC does in Week 10 or Week 11. You’re not going to catch The Citadel in Week 10. We caught Texas -Sonny Dykes,” tweeted Watson.

Dykes got honest about his team’s performance following the loss, admitting that he “didn’t do a good enough job” of preparing his team for the game.

“Obviously we didn’t do a great job getting our guys prepared,” said Dykes. “We’ve been on a heck of a run and seemed like we just ran out of steam a little bit tonight.”

While it is certainly easy to criticize Dykes for TCU’s horrible performance on Monday night, the Horned Frogs still had an incredible season that they should be proud of.

Considering they started the season unranked and made it to this point, Sonny Dykes and TCU should look back on the year fondly despite this disappointing result.
